Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, including significant leadership responsibilities
  • Proven track record in managing manufacturing processes, production scheduling, and quality systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret manufacturing metrics and technical documents
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with ERP/manufacturing software preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working with both technical detail and strategic decision-making

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor manufacturing supervisors, team leads, and frontline staff, building a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous performance improvement
  • Oversee daily production of Sample Handling or similar products, ensuring all manufacturing, packaging, labeling, and storage activities meet production schedules and SOPs
  • Implement and maintain robust production scheduling systems that meet delivery timelines and optimize resource utilization
  • Provide coaching, development, and performance feedback to supervisors and team leaders
  • Monitor labor utilization and production efficiency; identify and implement improvements to reduce downtime and increase throughput
  • Track and act upon key performance indicators (KPIs) such as throughput, yield, downtime, labor efficiency, and equipment utilization
  • Ensure manufacturing operations comply with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and production documentation to ensure process consistency
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control Unit to resolve non-conformances, execute OOS investigations, and uphold compliance
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to support production flow, capacity planning, and capital projects
  • Assist with budgeting and capital planning related to staffing, equipment, and operational improvements
  • Provide leadership support to the Director of Manufacturing and contribute to cross-site initiatives
  • Stay current on industry best practices and evolving technologies to identify and assess improvement opportunities
