Senior Manager, Medicare Sales

Position Overview

We are looking for licensed, highly motivated, and self-driven individuals passionate about the Medicare population and seeking a management role with the ability to directly impact their own income potential. The Senior Manager, Medicare Sales motivates and drives a team of Medicare Sales Field Agents who sell individual health plan products and educate beneficiaries on our services in a field setting. Our teams also sell Life, Annuity, Indemnity, Dental, Vision, Prescription plans, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Coach, mentor, educate, motivate, and train a team of sales individuals.
  • Develop a solid understanding of the market served, how to resolve operational problems, and provide creative solutions to increase sales while following CMS guidelines.
  • Cultivate, maintain, and build relationships with Humana’s customers, both internal and external business partners, along with the community served through telephonic, virtual, and face-to-face interactions with individuals and groups.
  • Develop marketing budgets.
  • Identify branding opportunities.
  • Guide a large contingent of independent/contracted agents.

Requirements

  • Location: Must reside in the Milwaukee, WI area or be willing to relocate. This is a field-based position where you will be working with your team and meeting members face to face.
  • Licensing: Active Health Insurance license.
  • Experience:
    • 6 or more years of experience working in the insurance industry.
    • 2 or more years of sales leadership experience.
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
    • Prior experience working with laptop computers, cell phones, and the ability to navigate mobile apps.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
    • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
  • Driver Safety Program:
    • Must have a valid state driver's license.
    • Proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100/300/100 limits.
  • Home Office Requirements:
    • Ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office.
    • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mbps download x 10mbps upload) is required.
    • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
    • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
    • Note: Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree or work-level equivalent.
  • Prior experience working in Medicare and the health solutions industry.
  • Engaged with the community through service, organizations, activities, and volunteerism.
  • Project management background or certification is a plus.
  • Bilingual with the ability to speak, read, and write in both English and an additional language without limitations or assistance.
