Requirements

Candidates must have a J.D. from a U.S. law school and be admitted to a state bar, with at least 3 years of experience, preferably a mix of in-house and law firm roles in high-growth, regulated industries. Required experience includes reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial agreements, with a strong preference for data privacy expertise and bonus experience in healthcare or employee benefits. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with technical concepts, willing to be hands-on, and have experience in a startup environment.

Responsibilities

The Senior Legal Counsel will provide broad legal support, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various agreements such as MSAs, business associate agreements, vendor agreements, data use agreements, partnership agreements, NDAs, and employment-related agreements. They will collaborate with business functions to offer guidance on product development, internal operations, and daily challenges, and support compliance with data privacy and other regulations by understanding requirements and communicating risks. The role also involves liaising with external counsel, managing legal processes, assisting with corporate maintenance, and supporting the company's mission to improve the U.S. healthcare system.
