A minimum of 12 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data strategy is required, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale BI solutions in complex, matrixed organizations is essential. Expertise in BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker, along with data modeling and data visualization best practices, is necessary. A strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, lake house architecture, and cloud data platforms like Data Bricks, Snowflake, Azure, or GCP is required. Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills are also crucial, as is experience working with cross-functional teams in consumer and retail domains. Preferred qualifications include experience in the footwear, apparel, or retail industry, familiarity with commerce and store KPIs, and a demonstrated ability to lead through influence and build partnerships.

Responsibilities

The Senior Director, BI Development will lead a global team of BI professionals, including analysts and data visualization experts, and manage data engineering efforts. They will define and execute the business intelligence strategy for Geos and Marketplace Experiences (GaME), aligning with Nike’s digital transformation and domain data strategy. Key responsibilities include partnering with Engineering, Product Management, Data Science, and Program Management to deliver scalable BI solutions, and collaborating with global and geo business stakeholders to understand needs and deliver actionable insights. The role involves developing BI solutions ranging from executive dashboards to detailed operational analytics reports, championing modern BI tools and self-service analytics, and translating business objectives into data-driven strategies. Establishing governance and best practices for data capture, quality, security, compliance, dashboard design, and reporting standards is also a core duty. Furthermore, the position requires driving a culture of data literacy and insight-driven decision-making, and representing the BI function in executive forums to influence strategic priorities.
