Candidates must have a BS or higher in Computer Science or equivalent experience, with over 5 years of relevant experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering. Strong experience in setting up, maintaining, and automating CI/CD systems, along with hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform, is required. Knowledge of managing and customizing monitoring tools like Datadog and Sumo Logic, fluency with source control (GitHub, GitLab, Git) and build systems (CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Docker), proficiency with AWS services (Redis, OpenSearch, Aurora PostgreSQL, Redshift, MongoDB, EC2, ECS), and adeptness at scripting with Python, Bash, or Perl for infrastructure automation are essential. Proven ability to take ownership, lead projects, and influence engineering teams is also necessary. Candidates should ideally be available to work in the Bay Area or within the Pacific Time Zone (PST).
The Senior DevOps Engineer will lead the design, deployment, and optimization of AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform, establishing best practices for automation, monitoring, security, and governance. Responsibilities include leading the practice of container-based microservices and serverless applications using Terraform and other automation tools, building and managing CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments, monitoring systems, implementing alerts, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency. The role also involves conducting security audits, ensuring compliance with AWS best practices, enforcing cloud governance policies, developing disaster recovery and business continuity plans, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions, and providing technical guidance and mentorship.
