AWS DevOps Engineer

Position Overview

Resource Innovations is seeking a skilled AWS DevOps Engineer to join our team. This is a remote position, but candidates must reside in one of the following metro areas for occasional in-person office meetings: San Francisco CA, Chicago IL, Phoenix AZ, Denver CO, or Madison WI. The role involves working on a diverse range of SaaS products built on the AWS platform, aimed at transforming how utilities manage business processes and customer initiatives related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, demand response, and conservation. Responsibilities

The Lead AWS DevOps Engineer will be responsible for:

• Developing, maintaining, and managing AWS technology infrastructure, leveraging cloud services and automation to optimize SaaS solutions for functionality, performance, and cost.
• Developing and driving AWS cloud deployment strategies.
• Integrating new cloud services and automating CI/CD pipelines.
• Transforming current cloud technology capabilities across the SaaS product portfolio.
• Identifying opportunities to leverage cloud architecture and new, emerging technologies.
• Designing platforms to optimize the delivery of SaaS products.
• Designing, managing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure to support the commercial SaaS products portfolio.
• Architecting solutions using Infrastructure-As-A-Service (IaaS) components and other relevant tools.
• Researching, analyzing, and proposing best-in-class solutions to improve cloud platform efficiency and effectiveness.
• Optimizing the platform using serverless computing, cloud services, and container orchestration, focusing on availability, performance, and redundancy.
• Collaborating with fellow DevOps engineers on provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, security, and the software release process.
• Developing and integrating new cloud technologies.
• Building automated, next-generation CI/CD pipelines in partnership with SaaS teams.
• Defining cloud standards, DevOps practices, CI/CD processes, and Standard Operating Environments.
• Monitoring underlying operating infrastructure and proactively identifying and resolving issues.
• Managing the security and compliance of cloud infrastructure.
• Meeting customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs) while striving to provide world-class service.
• Participating in team sprint planning and stand-ups, making recommendations to effectively resolve problems.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 8+ years of DevOps experience with AWS cloud.
• Deep technical experience in cloud architecture, systems engineering, virtualization, serverless computing, networking, storage, security, and system administration.
• Technical expertise in multiple areas beyond the AWS cloud platform, including operating systems, network infrastructure, security infrastructure, databases, application servers, and monitoring systems.
• Proven experience deploying and managing large-scale cloud platforms.
• Demonstrated experience with automation of CI/CD pipelines and the Software Release Process.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Jenkins, Grafana, and Git.
• Strong understanding of AWS computing technologies, emerging trends, and the application of technologies to optimize workloads.
