Candidates should have over 4 years of experience in data engineering or backend development with a strong focus on building production-grade data pipelines. Proficiency in Python and SQL for data transformation and automation is required, along with solid experience working with AWS services such as Redshift, Spectrum, S3, RDS, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, and SQS. Experience with dbt for data modeling and transformation, a good understanding of streaming architectures and micro-batching, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for data workflows are also necessary. Experience with event schema validation tools like Snowplow or Schema Registry, excellent communication and collaboration skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a growth mindset are essential.
The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining reliable, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using modern tools and best practices. They will design and implement effective data models to support business needs, collaborate with data analysts and product managers to deliver data solutions, and develop data quality checks and monitoring frameworks to ensure data accuracy and reliability. Additionally, they will identify and address performance issues in pipelines and queries, ensure pipelines meet data security and compliance standards, test new tools and approaches through PoCs, and contribute to the development of CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.
