Candidates should possess at least 7 years of experience in an agile, multidisciplinary team environment, preferably with experience designing and building medium to large-scale systems on cloud platforms. A minimum of 3 years of experience leading and mentoring engineering teams is required, along with at least 3 years of experience building data services on AWS. Experience with FHIR/HL7 in healthcare and big data technologies such as Apache Spark, AWS Glue, AWS Athena, Databricks, AWS Redshift, AWS S3, and AWS RDS is necessary. Strong proficiency in programming languages like Python, Go, or Java is also required.
The Senior Data Engineer will lead a team of engineers in designing, reviewing, and building software, working in an agile manner to deliver new features that meet user needs. They will be responsible for designing and developing scalable data ingestion and processing pipelines, implementing large-scale data ecosystems within cloud-based platforms, and ensuring data validation and quality. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional project teams to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and work with government partners to develop data engineering applications and pipelines. The individual will also participate in software design and code reviews, maintain security and privacy standards, and take part in hiring activities as needed.
