Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience, with over 10 years of progressive software development experience, particularly in data. Experience in the health-tech sector is advantageous. Proficiency in building and maintaining secure, end-to-end systems and services, with a preference for Golang, PostgresDB, and MongoDB, is expected. A strong understanding of algorithms and efficient data structures, familiarity with the full Software Development Lifecycle, and excellent critical thinking, debugging, and problem-solving skills are essential. A sense of ownership and experience with Looker, Snowflake, and dbt are considered a plus.
The Staff Software Engineer, Data Platforms will lead the development and maintenance of the overall data pipeline, from upstream data sources to downstream consumers. This includes designing, implementing, testing, and launching backend data services and API platforms, and collaborating with product and analytics teams to enhance data quality and governance. Responsibilities also involve designing and maintaining data pipelines using Golang and Python, optimizing performance for data ingestion, transformation, and loading, and integrating data from various sources like the core application, Sales CRM, and inventory tracking. The role requires maintaining comprehensive documentation of data systems, collaborating with remote Dev and QA teams, understanding complex business processes and user needs, making data accessible, and designing and testing validation frameworks to ensure performant, reliable, scalable, testable, and secure code.
