Candidates must have a strong technical background with over 3 years of industry experience and at least 1 year in a Sales/Solutions Engineering role for a SaaS business. Hands-on experience building and deploying to cloud infrastructure using multiple services from major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and vendors such as Datadog, MongoDB, Databricks, Snowflake, Fastly, Kubernetes, NewRelic, OpenAI, Oracle, Confluent, Splunk, Twilio, PlanetScale, or Fly.io is required. The ideal candidate is a professional who can represent the company well to customers, loves technical infrastructure, and enjoys regular customer interaction, expecting to spend over 50% of their time with clients.
The Sales Engineer will serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to aligned accounts, technical teams, and business stakeholders, exhibiting strong communication skills to influence decisions through presentations, demos, and technical engagements. They will partner with Account Executives to communicate Vantage's value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers, owning the technical validation of proposed solutions and understanding the customer's journey. Responsibilities include proactively engaging with the product team to prioritize features based on market input, communicating and following up with customers on technical details via Zoom, Slack, and email, and driving technical escalations by partnering with cross-functional teams like engineering, product management, and customer success. A deep understanding of Vantage, its supported integrations, and the FinOps space must be established and maintained.
