Requirements

  • Primarily work onsite in Greater Sacramento CA/Roseville CA at an HPE partner/customer office
  • Expert-level skill sets on Juniper Networks products and solutions
  • Ability to develop and maintain highly technical expertise in deployed products

Responsibilities

  • Hold network information gathering workshops with the Customer to understand existing network design and technical requirements of new designs
  • Understand the Customer’s organizational structure and become familiar with their network implementation and support processes and procedures
  • Carry out testing of new designs, features, and functionality in a laboratory environment and develop plans to implement and verify them in the live network
  • Test patches and fixes to operating software, ensuring they are implemented and functioning correctly in pre-production and live networks
  • Troubleshoot equipment and network problems and open/track JTAC cases to resolve pre- and post-production issues
  • Raise equipment Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) and track them through to problem resolution
  • Produce written summary reports of the status of design projects, equipment, and network problems regularly to the Customer
  • Hold technology workshops with the Customer to discuss equipment/network problems, provide case status updates, reasons for problems, and workarounds/solutions
  • Train the Customer’s design, implementation, and support personnel to configure and operate Juniper Networks products
  • Assist the Customer in developing Network Operating and Equipment Operating Procedures
  • Support the production environment of Juniper products within the Customer infrastructure
  • Support ongoing efforts in defining best practice policies for Juniper product applications used by the Customer
  • Peer with other employees in similar resident engineering roles to share lessons learned and minimize risks in major network upgrades or changes
  • Develop secondary skills in other products in the Juniper portfolio
