Headway's mission is to build a new mental health care system everyone can access. We’ve built technology that helps people find great therapists with the first software-enabled national network of providers accepting insurance. 1 in 4 people in the US have a treatable mental health condition, but the majority of providers don’t accept insurance, making therapy too expensive for most people. Headway is building a new mental healthcare system that everyone can access by making it easy for therapists to accept insurance and scale their practice. Headway was founded in 2019. Since then, we’ve grown into a diverse, national network of over 45,000 mental healthcare providers across all 50 states who run their practice on our software and have served over 1 million patients. We’re a Series D company with over $325m in funding from a16z (Andreessen Horowitz), Accel, GV (formerly Google Ventures), Spark Capital, Thrive Capital, Forerunner Ventures and Health Care Service Corporation.

As a Provider Sales Associate, you’ll have an instrumental impact as we expand Headway across the country. You’ll be directly responsible for scaling our community of therapists and psychiatrists in order to increase access to quality care for those who need it. As a sales expert in a rapidly scaling environment, you’ll be on the front line of expanding our therapist networks through a full-cycle sales motion. As the first point of contact for prospective providers, you’ll work cross-functionally to translate the insights you glean from your sales process into products and processes that help us execute on our mission.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years experience in consultative sales or consumer sales (bonus points if you’ve done this in a startup environment, or sold to small businesses before)
  • Ability to connect with people whether in person, over the phone, or over email
  • Deep work ethic and the desire to continuously improve
  • Comfortable being challenged and pushing yourself to get better every day and in every pitch
  • Thick skin, comfortable thinking on your feet, trying new approaches, and bouncing back when things don’t go your way
  • Scientific approach to growth, experimenting with various tactics to discover how to generate leads and sell
  • Analytical ability to identify which channels warrant more investment and which to avoid
  • Desire to learn and grow, viewing the role as an opportunity to learn from a talented team and take on more responsibility at Headway over time
  • Belief in the company’s mission (affordable and accessible mental health care)

Responsibilities

  • Scale Headway’s community of therapists and psychiatrists.
  • Manage a full-cycle sales motion with prospective providers.
