Requirements

  • Ability to specialize in branch customer experience through sales, service, and digital engagement for Consumer and Business Banking customers
  • Support daily branch operations as a Teller and meet customer service and sales needs
  • Hold customer appointments (scheduled or walk-in) to identify needs and refer complex needs appropriately
  • Adhere to customer service standards and deliver differentiated experiences
  • Actively engage in lobby management, greeting customers and solving needs proactively
  • Assist with Consumer and Business Banking AML, BSA, and KYC processes; identify and escalate suspected fraud
  • Resolve and log customer complaints accurately
  • Review, approve, and resolve customer overdrafts
  • Accurately complete customer transactions and related operational activities, including documentation
  • Adhere to compliance/operational risk controls, Company policies, and regulatory standards
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including audit and regulator issues
  • Meet and maintain registration requirements under the Federal SAFE Act
  • Exemplify empathy, customer centricity, flexibility, adaptability, digital fluency, entrepreneurial spirit, and critical thinking
  • Promote an environment supporting belonging and reflecting the M&T Bank brand

Responsibilities

  • Educate customers and explain features/benefits of Consumer and Business Banking solutions; make recommendations based on needs
  • Engage customers in various ways to bank, provide solutions, and encourage digital capabilities
  • Explain high-level criteria for loan application decisions
  • Complete servicing-related responsibilities for Consumer and Business Banking relationships; lead inquiries to identify other needs
  • Follow the Bank’s sales process and provide simplified, customer-focused advice/guidance
  • Proactively reach out to customers to retain and expand relationships
  • Introduce appropriate banking partners for product opportunities
  • Complete other related duties as assigned
  • Provide exceptional service to branch customers and resolve problems timely
  • Drive sales and customer experience within the branch
  • Interact with Bank areas to resolve branch-related operational issues efficiently and accurately
