Requirements

Act as a role model demonstrating genuine care and setting standards for the pharmacy team
Exhibit best practices when working the bench, including quarterbacking the team, providing meaningful patient counseling, and abiding by legal and regulatory guidelines
Lead and develop a pharmacy team, including onboarding new hires and recognizing colleagues
Ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations at all times
Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a talent pipeline of cross-trained colleagues
Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists (where applicable), including performance management

Responsibilities

Manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, providing effective coaching and follow-up to strengthen performance measures
Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing adherence to pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, collaborating with healthcare teams, and resolving insurance/medication issues; coach team to do the same
Proactively offer and deliver immunizations, and support Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize
Manage pharmacy inventory by following and coaching on best practices, with focus on cold chain products
Conduct onboarding and training for new Technicians and Pharmacists on CVS workflow, ensuring timely completion of training/licensure
Escalate compliance issues to the Rx DL as needed
Manage performance of pharmacy team through observation, feedback, validation, annual reviews, and closing performance gaps
