Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency
2 years plant process experience and/or Process Technology degree/certification
Previous work history and/or military experience
Strong commitment to safety
Experience with personal computers and/or DCS systems
Desire and ability to work in a team environment
Strong mechanical aptitude
Strong commitment to safety, working as a team, and operational excellence
Self-starter with a strong work ethic
Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, and participate in an on-call rota
Ability to read and interpret piping schematics/diagrams
Ability to utilize written procedures for starting and stopping equipment
Ability to isolate systems for maintenance using work permits and lock out tag out process
Ability to operate manual and pneumatic valves
Ability to operate systems from remote location via Distributed Control System
Must be able to climb ladders and steps and lift at least 50 lbs
Be able to meet call-in requirements as needed
Elevated work required
Must be able to work in all weather conditions

Responsibilities

Monitor and adjust plant process conditions by adjusting valves, pumps, machinery, and electrical equipment
Maintain an electronic logbook of daily operational activities
Troubleshoot plant process conditions using various in-plant indications of plant performance and data displayed on a modern DCS/HMI computer system
Issue safety work permits and perform lock-out/tag-out procedures as necessary for maintenance activities
Oversee trailer loading operations
Inspect all work areas on a routine basis to identify any mechanical problems, safety hazards, or unusual operating conditions
Ensure that all plant safety procedures are followed
Attend and contribute to monthly safety meetings
Perform troubleshooting on equipment and make minor adjustments and/or submit work requests to maintenance as required
Assist in reviewing and updating operating procedures as required
Day-to-day safe operation of the facility’s operating equipment and production processes in compliance with all EH&S standards
Perform work duties in accordance with company quality systems, safety policies and site-specific procedures
Monitor daily production processes to ensure reliability, efficiency and productivity goals are met
