Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical, and have a strong understanding of balance-of-plant systems and components for large-scale manufacturing or chemical process facilities. Proficiency in 2D (and 3D) CAD modeling and drawing comprehension is required, along with the ability to define system requirements and understand cross-disciplinary needs. Candidates should be comfortable in a fast-paced, highly iterative startup environment and willing to learn quickly, thinking creatively, critically, and reflectively about technical problems and proposing novel solutions.
The Facility Design Engineer will be responsible for developing facility layouts, workflows, and infrastructure plans to optimize efficiency, safety, security, and compliance. They will define specifications, performance criteria, and requirements for facility process support equipment, including mechanical, electrical, I&C, and backup power systems. This role involves interacting and managing partner A&E firms supporting facility development, project management relating to facility design, creation and oversight of building drawings (architectural, P&ID, pipe routing), establishing maintenance and reliability processes, generating maintenance documentation for regulatory filings, and participating in cross-functional teams.
