Requirements

  • Experience in sales management within the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in established pharmaceuticals or branded generics
  • Ability to work in Tunisia and Libya markets, with knowledge of local healthcare landscapes, tenders, and regulatory environments
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including relations with distributors, partners, health authorities (e.g., NCDC), scientific societies, KOLs, doctors, pharmacists, and governmental institutions
  • Proficiency in people management, coaching, performance appraisals, and leadership to act as a role model for Abbott’s values
  • Skills in sales planning, targeting, segmenting customers, and building Customer Value Matrix
  • Capability to represent the company in negotiations, pharma associations, and with critical stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Implement effective Sales Action Plan with direct reports to maximize business, achieve annual sales and market share targets
  • Coordinate with Commercial Excellence for customer targeting and segmentation per core brand to optimize Field Force efficiency
  • Identify and develop new market opportunities for consistent sales and revenue growth
  • Monitor and manage relations with Partners and Distributors to ensure promotion, sustainable distribution, stock availability per contracts, and positioning with health authorities
  • Monitor Libyan tender opportunities and partner with local distributors for credibility
  • Maintain direct contact with critical stakeholders (e.g., NCDC for vaccines/biosimilars, MSO for portfolio) and build relationships with customers like doctors, pharmacists, hospital purchasers
  • Keep direct contact with scientific societies and key KOLs in Tunisia/Libya markets
  • Represent Abbott before healthcare authorities, drive negotiations with governmental institutions in Libya and Tunisia, and participate in local pharma associations
  • Act as role model communicating Abbott’s values, technical, and leadership competencies
  • Identify and raise employee satisfaction issues to senior management
  • Build opportunities for direct reports in improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing
  • Plan, manage, review individual performance, provide regular feedback, conduct bi-annual appraisals, and report to superiors
  • Supervise direct reports to ensure delivery on sales targets and align on objectives/strategies
  • Contribute to coaching
