Mission Development Manager

Salary: $170,000 - $190,000 + bonus + equity + 401K match Location Type: 100% Remote First (US Based) Employment Type: Full-time

Position Overview

Vannevar Labs is seeking a Mission Development Manager to drive go-to-market strategies and achieve significant growth outcomes. This role is crucial in supporting our mission to be the technology backbone for strategic competition against peer adversaries. You will focus on launching pilots, converting them into larger projects, and embedding these solutions within existing programs or creating new ones in the national security space. The ideal candidate will have the potential to grow into a Senior Manager role within 12-18 months, leading growth pods and delivering major outcomes.

These missions – including intelligence, information operations, and special activities – are happening today and their success or failure will determine if we go to war tomorrow. We've been on the front lines of these missions since 2019, supporting a wide range of missions across all US service branches, multiple combatant commands, partner nations, and interagency stakeholders. Responsibilities

  • Execute on strategies: Pursue go-to-market strategies to drive deployments from new footholds to embedding in current defense programs and developing new category-defining programs.
  • Deliver growth outcomes: Execute on growth strategies with your pod, managing the process from concept through contract close.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience delivering growth within a technology or products context.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert pilot sales.
  • Experience growing defense product deployments from small-scale pilots into larger projects with the Department of Defense.
  • Mission domain expertise in national security technology; COCOM experience is preferred.
  • A strong desire to work in a national security startup, build a team, and drive significant growth through creative approaches, deep understanding of technologies and their applications to strategic competition, and a relentless ground game.
  • Primary residence must be commutable to Colorado Springs, CO (relocation assistance is offered).
  • U.S. Persons status required.
  • Must possess a current Top Secret US DoD or IC clearance as this position requires access to U.S. only data systems.
