Job Description

The Media Solutions Technologist performs a key role on the MediaOne team at GM in advancing our position as a global leader in the media and marketing landscape. This position will have the opportunity to work across the many storied GM brands, from Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC, Buick, Onstar, and so many more to curate & develop the GM ecosystem of media technologies, measurement providers, and workflow solutions that enables GM success across today’s automotive consumer journey.

You will be responsible for supporting the architecture & integration of technologies and data sources that power the modern media workflow, including media planning, audience targeting, activation, measurement, and more. This role works across internal stakeholders, external platforms & partners, and the MediaOne team to identify and develop methods that automate and accelerate our ability to deliver flawless executions and innovate new paths forward.

This role will work closely with other Media Product Strategists & Technologists to constantly evolve a comprehensive & connected media operating system on which the global MediaOne team operates. Success will be driven by the ability to drive the vision & execution into practice at scale – curiosity, creativity, & collaboration are essential. A successful candidate will also have strong communication skills, a proven track record operating & evolving media technologies, a firm understanding of omni-channel media targeting & measurement, and an ability to provide concise feedback and organized direction to a diverse set of internal stakeholders and external agency and vendor partners.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Subject matter expert across the media technology, channel measurement, and targeting data landscapes
  • Manage internal media solutions roadmap with goals, KPIs, and timing to scale best practices
  • Work very closely with internal Marketing Science & Marketing Technology teams to align efforts & priorities
  • Provide strategy for building out paid media tech to facilitate in-house media buying and planning across GM vehicle brands and corporate brands in the US and globally
  • Build well-defined process for working within tech platforms and establish guidelines for how internal tools integrate with other internal and external platforms and tools
  • Day to day management of media technology vendors including regular meetings, business needs updates, and guidelines for contact with GM organizations and stakeholders
  • Conduct ongoing reviews and analysis of the media technology landscape and maintain best-in-class partnerships
  • Build recommendations to inform selection of advertising technology vendors and solutions
  • Assist with implementation and rollout of tech platforms including extensive training for GM in-house team
  • Provide and/or facilitate media tech platform capabilities updates for GM in-house team, vehicle brand teams, other GM stakeholders, and agency partners that are involved in paid media
  • Continuously troubleshoot and work with tech platforms to solve user issues or needs that arise
  • Business stakeholder working with GM Purchasing, GM Legal, and GM Privacy to negotiate tech platform contracts
  • Work with relevant internal (e.g. Marketing Applied Sciences, MarTech Product Management, Engineering Teams) and external stakeholders to facilitate any data transfers, platform builds or integrations.
