Requirements

  • 8+ years of marketing experience in a fast-paced environment
  • 8+ years of experience in category marketing or sports marketing with high proficiency in managing demand-side business, including defining & tracking growth KPIs
  • Expertise in developing industry-defining campaigns that deliver impact for the brand and bottom-line for the business
  • Experience owning IRL and event experiences with proven track record of tying them to business impact
  • Experience and interest in working directly with influencers, creators, & other industry partners within the sports card space
  • Immersed in internet culture & deeply entrenched in how to market to communities
  • Problem solver with strong program management skills, people management experience, and ability to lead a high-performing team
  • Highly proficient with storytelling using data, including using data analytics tools to pull together needed data
  • Experience at a high-growth startup, marketplace, or creator-focused platform
  • Scrappy and flexible enough to work in a dynamic environment
  • Within commuting distance of San Francisco, Los Angeles, or New York hubs

Responsibilities

  • Define the strategy for sports marketing and develop big-bet initiatives designed to break through at an industry level, in service of company goals
  • Own the end-to-end planning and execution of largest marketing initiatives, including brand presence at The National and Whatnot Card show
  • Develop and manage relationships with industry-level leaders, from influencers, sellers, manufacturers, and other key partners
  • Manage a high-performing team responsible for owning buyer acquisition, including devising product release moments, campaigns, and events that generate community buzz & grow demand
  • Monitor, understand, and report out on demand-side performance as well as measure the efficacy of the work that moves these metrics
  • Deliver best-in-class marketing for sports cards and collectibles, including owning industry-defining big bets for the category and obsessively pursuing its growth
