Requirements

  • Knowledge of equipment manufacturer’s guidelines for preventive maintenance
  • Supervisory experience leading maintenance technicians, associates, and third-party contractors
  • Ability to manage labor hours, consumable supplies, budgets, profit plans, and capital requests
  • Proficiency in maintenance tracking software (CMMS) for task management, scheduling, and audits
  • Understanding of refrigeration systems, HVAC systems, fire protection, security systems, electrical and energy management, dock doors/dock plates, power industrial equipment, and building components (roof, floors/walls, doors, paved surfaces, landscaping)
  • Skills in parts procurement, inventory management, asset tracking, and cost control
  • Capability to conduct audits, ensure compliance with government regulations, safety standards, food safety documentation, and company policies
  • Experience in expense management, security, and hands-on technician support
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with department heads, staff, contractors, and Operations Manager
  • Ability to interpret, train on, and enforce company policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Oversee plant and equipment performance, including scheduling, tracking, and completing preventive maintenance to minimize downtimes
  • Supervise daily work and safety of associates and third-party contractors for building, grounds, sanitation, refrigeration systems, powered industrial equipment, and security
  • Supervise labor hours and consumable supplies within budget; prepare work schedules including extra shifts
  • Communicate maintenance information, coordinate PM schedules with department heads, staff, and contractors
  • Supervise selection, purchase (via approved POs), utilization, and inventory of company assets; coordinate with departments for efficient upgrades and repairs
  • Work with Operations Manager to prepare budgets, profit plans, capital requests; evaluate metrics and adjust activities to meet performance expectations
  • Suggest efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures, and assist with implementation in fleet, facility maintenance, power industrial equipment, and security
  • Establish preventative maintenance schedules for all systems, equipment, and buildings
  • Supervise priorities, assign, and monitor facility projects for quality and timely completion using CMMS
  • Conduct audits to ensure inspections and documentation (e.g., food safety) are accurate and retained
  • Maintain associate relations through meetings, ongoing interaction, communication, monitoring morale, and responding to improvement ideas
  • Interpret, train on, and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Assist Safety department with training and conduct
