Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar
  • Minimum of 3 years of legal experience, ideally with a combination of law firm and in-house roles in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or life sciences sector
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance laws and regulations, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, FCPA, HIPAA, GDPR, and CCPA
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal audiences and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Experience supporting international teams and managing cross-border legal matters, with strong prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • A team player with a “can-do” attitude, collaborative mindset, and a desire to learn and grow
  • Understanding of public tender processes and legal frameworks for selling to government or state institutions
  • Spanish or Portuguese language skills are a plus
  • High ethical standards, sound judgment, and a proactive, business-oriented mindset
  • Strong technical proficiency, with solid command of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, OneNote, Teams) and experience using Outlook for email and calendar management

Responsibilities

  • Providing comprehensive legal support, including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Supporting operations across the U.S., Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean
  • Identifying, assessing, and escalating legal and compliance risks, providing clear, actionable guidance to management and business stakeholders to support informed decision-making
  • Communicating and collaborating effectively across all levels of the organization—from junior associates to senior executives—using a service-oriented, business-minded approach to legal practice
  • Embracing a continuous improvement mindset, aligned with the Danaher Business System (DBS), to drive efficiency, innovation, and operational excellence in legal support
