Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, ideally with a concentration in Economics, International Relations, Area Studies, Political Science, or a closely related field
  • Demonstrable professional experience utilizing deep expertise in relation to the region, with experience working in a real-time information environment
  • Strong understanding of both social media and publicly-available data
  • Ability to interpret and succinctly describe ongoing, complex events with incomplete data in English and Spanish
  • Ability to read and understand Portuguese
  • Passion for breaking news, current world events, technology, and innovation
  • Strong understanding of social media and publicly-available data
  • Adaptability and ability to juggle multiple competing priorities in evolving scenarios

Responsibilities

  • Examine and analyze data feeds to improve AI models' performance in real-time event detection space
  • Annotate, label, and edit signals in real-time
  • Own and develop projects to improve AI models' performance
  • Lead strategic initiatives across teams to address critical opportunities or issues
  • Work with multiple stakeholders across all offices to support region-specific training
  • Collaborate on and communicate about daily priorities in a team-centric environment
  • Monitor and analyze the quality of data feeds
  • Make real-time decisions with incomplete data
  • Work remotely (US) with weekend rotational work (10:00am - 6:00pm ET)
