Day In The Life

As a Systems Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIT) Engineer, your days will be filled with diverse challenges and opportunities for innovation. You will:

• Review supplier AIT plans to ensure alignment with performance requirements for critical space assets.
• Collaborate with fellow engineers in brainstorming sessions to develop tailored, rapid-build AIT campaigns for proliferated space systems.
• Lead rigorous reviews of test results, confirming compliance with system requirements and standards.
• Guide your team through complex AIT processes, fostering a culture of autonomy and team success.
• Make impactful decisions and explore new ideas in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
• Contribute to building meaningful space technologies that transform how we view our world.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance at TS/SCI level.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in space systems integration and test activities.
• Proven experience managing small teams or departments, including budgets, schedules, and staffing.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams to ensure robust space system development AIT through Verification and Validation (V&V) programs.
• Experience across all phases of spacecraft mechanical and electrical integration and test, from program initiation through launch site operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of optical remote sensing system components, design, and operational requirements.
• Proficiency in spacecraft test and operations scripting languages (e.g., STOL, Python, CCL, Cecil).
• Strong understanding of industry standards such as MIL-STD-1540, MIL-STD-461, and NASA General Environmental Verification Standard (GEVS).
• Familiarity with Laser Communication Terminals and intersatellite link techniques.
• Capability to utilize modeling and simulation tools to predict and evaluate system performance.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
