Requirements

Candidates must possess 10+ years of professional experience in program management for complex technical systems, with a specific focus on space payloads. A minimum of 7 years of hands-on technical experience in systems engineering and 5 years of profit and loss responsibility are required. Direct experience with remote sensing satellite development and/or mission operations, a proven track record managing technical development for space-based systems, and experience working with U.S. Government DoD, Intelligence Community, and Civil customers are essential. Strong leadership skills, experience with proposal development, an excellent understanding of systems engineering processes and space system architectures, and the ability to travel up to 20% are also necessary. The ability to obtain a security clearance is a requirement.

Responsibilities

The Mission Manager will lead the portfolio of environmental monitoring, government, and commercial missions, initially owning and driving individual missions with the potential to scale into leading a team. This role involves collaborating closely with various departments to deliver high-quality satellite solutions on time and on budget, meeting contractual obligations. Responsibilities include managing mission roadmaps, schedules, and budgets throughout the program lifecycle, proposing and developing proof of concept missions, and evolving towards managing operational constellations. Key duties involve mission management for satellite development programs, expanding the mission portfolio, providing technical leadership, ensuring successful program execution (cost, schedule, technical), representing Muon Space to customers, building and mentoring a team of mission managers, contributing to process improvement, and defining and executing strategic growth for contracts.
