Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including pivot tables, is required. Foundational knowledge of networking concepts like IP addresses, MAC addresses, pinging devices, and SSH is necessary. The ability to read and interpret technical resources such as CAD drawings, maintenance manuals, and user guides is essential. A valid driver's license is required, and the role involves up to 75% travel to customer sites, including extended periods at installation locations. Employees must be able to work at heights up to 45 feet, in restrictive areas of 24 inches, and lift up to 50 pounds. Compliance with all safety requirements, including lockout/tagout and fall protection protocols, is mandatory. The ability to work in temperatures ranging from 32° to 105° Fahrenheit is also required.

Responsibilities

The System Reliability Test Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and validating Symbotic’s automated robotic systems, including Inbound and Outbound Adapter cells, Vertical Lifts, conveyors, and autonomous bots. This role involves becoming the system expert, performing repairs and replacements of mechanical, electrical/electronic, and pneumatic sub-systems, and providing service and support to Commissioning, Testing, and Operations teams. Responsibilities include performing inspections and maintenance on automated storage and retrieval systems, robotic vehicles, and lifts. The engineer will support troubleshooting and calibration of PLCs, robotic arms, and related system components. They will run basic SQL queries and utilize tools like Jira, SharePoint, or TestRail to track issues and testing. Adjustments, repairs, and component replacements will be performed to maintain system performance. Technical skills will be applied in utility work such as aligning sensors, attaching components, or light fabrication. The role leads preparation and readiness efforts, tasks, and testing to ensure the successful implementation of the Symbotic system at customer sites.
