Position Overview

GM Envolve is transforming beyond vehicle sales to offer holistic Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Government (B2G) solutions. We are seeking a Government Area Sales Manager to promote a customer-first approach, improve sales performance, and drive revenue within an assigned book of business, while actively engaging with the General Motors Dealership network.

This is a remote position, allowing for effective performance from off-site locations. However, the employee must reside within the assigned territory and conduct regular visits to customer accounts. The selected candidate will be responsible for a territory located within the states of CT, MA, NH, RI, or NY.

Responsibilities

Account Management

  • Manage a portfolio of assigned government accounts.
  • Develop sales strategy and business plans for assigned government accounts.
  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ensure early engagement in the customer buying process to diagnose customer needs and tailor solutions, influencing bid specifications as required.
  • Leverage strategic sales methodology, advance sales opportunities, and generate revenue growth.
  • Actively manage the sales pipeline to ensure a constant flow of new business into GM.
  • Collaborate with GM B2B/B2G business units to ensure customer success, solution adoption, and sales expansion.
  • Provide continuous feedback to GM B2B/B2G business units to drive future product enhancements.

Operational

  • Update the CRM system with accurate customer information, contact details, and activity logs.
  • Implement and track key performance metrics.
  • Accurately forecast sales opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of B2G, B2B sales and/or account management experience.
  • Government bid process, quoting, and sales experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience required.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence government agency partners.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Ability to balance conflicting priorities while maintaining effectiveness.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including understanding the audience, getting the message across, presenting information effectively, and communicating openly.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative, rapidly evolving industry and organization, comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM account management applications.
  • Travel Required: Must be able to travel up to 75% within the assigned region.
  • Driver's License: This position requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis. A company vehicle will be provided upon successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Report review.

Compensation

The expected base compensation for this role is between $94,800 and $151,400. Actual base compensation within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position and the selected candidate.
