The Problem

Sales pipeline is critical for growing companies, especially in B2B. Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) and Business Development Representatives (BDRs) are responsible for identifying, contacting, and qualifying new potential customers. In the US alone, there are approximately 750,000 SDR/BDRs working in companies like Airtable, Brex, and Databricks.

The day-to-day activities of SDRs/BDRs typically include:

  • Prospecting & Research: Identifying potential customers using signals like industry, size, fundraising, headcount growth, new hires, and job descriptions.
  • Email & LinkedIn Messaging: Crafting messages to convey the problem and pitch the product, aiming to book demos.
  • Calling: Engaging in live phone conversations, which often have higher conversion rates than emails due to their personal nature, but involve more manual work.

Much of this can be automated with today's technology, including large language models, web scraping, and automation.

The Role

We are seeking an early Enterprise Account Executive to help build our growing Enterprise sales team. This role involves executing and refining our sales playbook from lead generation to closing. You should be comfortable with hands-on prospecting and will be instrumental in closing deals and improving our Enterprise sales strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Run discovery calls, align key stakeholders, and close deals.
  • Source pipeline to achieve revenue goals.
  • Implement "land and expand" strategies, building processes for manual top-down outreach, onboarding, activation, and expansion.
  • Evangelize the product and personally close the largest deals.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams, including Engineering, Product, and Marketing.
  • Provide full visibility into the sales pipeline at every stage of development.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant sales experience with a proven track record of exceeding quota.
  • SDR/AE management experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience selling to Enterprise organizations.
  • Extensive knowledge of sales principles and practices.
  • Experience with Sandler, MEDDPICC, and Challenger methodologies is a nice-to-have.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use data and metrics to support assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
  • Strong problem-solving, issue-resolution, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.

  • Experience as an early AE at another startup.
  • Experience selling to sales leaders.
  • Experience as a Senior Sales Manager or Account Executive at a fast-paced SaaS company.

Compensation & Benefits

We offer competitive compensation relative to the market. The On-Target Earnings (OTE) for this role is $260k ($130k base / $130k variable). In addition to OTE, we offer equity, generous perks, and comprehensive benefits.
