Oversee up to 5+ maintenance shops and manage multiple teams of technicians, maintenance supervisors, and/or other maintenance managers
Manage fleet of up to 91+ trucks (diesel and alternate fuel), machinery supporting approximately 3 post collection facilities and 3 container shops
Advanced knowledge of engine, emission systems, transmission, brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems of heavy equipment and vehicles
Advanced engine chassis repair and maintenance capabilities
Advanced knowledge of vehicle body control systems, including hydraulics and electrical systems
Advanced knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems for diagnosing and repairing complex systems
Advanced knowledge of welding tools to fix heavy equipment
Ability to perform advanced preventive and repair maintenance functions on-site and on-road
Knowledge of Company's safety and compliance standards, and federal and state regulations
Responsibilities
Provide direction to on-site technicians and technician supervisor, and leadership to maintenance supervisors or managers, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely repair/maintenance work; reallocate resources among sites
Oversee coordination, planning, and scheduling of all repair work to increase productivity and manage overtime
Monitor shops' operational performance and efficiency; redirect activities, report to management, and implement procedures for improvements
Oversee daily shop huddles, fleet walk-arounds; coach and counsel lead technicians and supervisors; make hiring/termination decisions with HR and management; oversee training and performance evaluations
Maintain ongoing preventive maintenance program; identify trends in road calls and breakdowns; oversee facility maintenance; control costs (personnel, purchasing, inventory, outsourcing)
Perform inspections of outside repairs to ensure compliance with Company procedures and regulations; follow up, identify training opportunities, document issues, and discuss corrective actions
Accountable for scheduled Quality Control Inspections; track issues and resolutions for compliance
Manage team administrative matters, including payroll and employee records, records of preventive and corrective maintenance
