Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Financial Analyst with 3-4 years of experience to join our fast-paced team at Serve Robotics, a leading autonomous delivery robotics company. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting financial planning, analysis, and decision-making processes, with a focus on budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and scenario modeling. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of accounting fundamentals and advanced skills in Google Sheets, as well as a passion for using automation tools like ChatGPT to streamline tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the preparation, analysis, and maintenance of detailed financial models and forecasts to inform business decisions.
  • Variance Analysis: Perform regular variance analysis and provide insights into budget versus actual results, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Scenario Modeling: Develop and maintain dynamic scenario models to assess the financial impact of various business strategies and decisions.
  • Automation & Efficiency: Leverage advanced Excel/Google Sheets and ChatGPT to automate and simplify complex reporting processes, ensuring higher efficiency and accuracy.
  • Business Partner Relationships: Act as a trusted financial partner to business units, collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand their financial needs and deliver actionable insights.
  • Commentary & Reporting: Prepare clear, concise, and insightful financial commentary to explain variances, trends, and forecasts to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Accounting Fundamentals: Apply solid knowledge of accounting principles to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and assist in closing processes.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in a tech, robotics, or fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in advanced Google Sheets and Excel, with the ability to create and manipulate complex financial models.
    • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
    • Experience with scenario modeling and financial forecasting tools, as well as ERP tools like NetSuite; experience implementing FP&A planning tools (Planful, Pigment, Anaplan, Adaptive) a plus.
    • Comfort using emerging productivity tools (e.g., ChatGPT, scripting, workflow automation) to enhance efficiency.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen, with the ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Knowledge of accounting principles and a solid understanding of financial statements.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
