Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics/informatic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, related degree in biotechnology/biomedical or equivalent work experience and knowledge. Some experience working within a Field Service engineer role is preferred, along with fluency in both English and Dutch language skills. A valid driving license within The Netherlands is required, with flexibility to travel up to 75% across the Benelux region (Netherlands, Luxemburg, and Belgium), and occasional travel Europe-wide.

Responsibilities

As a Field Service Engineer 2, the individual will partner with customers to install and maintain Illumina hardware, providing troubleshooting and complaint resolution. They will serve as an engineering consultant during pre- and post-sales activities, collaborating with the commercial team to maximize sales growth, support instrument uptime, and customer satisfaction. The role involves providing onsite technical assistance to customers, Field Applications Scientists/Specialists, and Territory Account Managers, utilizing service manuals and facilitating remote connectivity. Responsibilities also include coordinating service requests, maintaining inventory levels, establishing customer relationships, ensuring effective problem resolution, participating in project teams, executing qualification and validation products, and coordinating new installations while representing the company professionally and ethically.
