Candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent, with hands-on experience with Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry systems, and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Sciences, or a related field preferred. A minimum of 3 or more years of experience as a Service Engineer, particularly with analytical instrumentation, or 3 or more years of relevant proven experience is required. Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to establish good customer rapport are critical, along with the ability to prioritize service requests and produce clear and concise documentation.
The Field Service Engineer II will perform on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and qualifications of liquid, ion, and gas chromatography systems, focusing on client-focused service and collaboration with other ULS teams and Sales. They will analyze chemistry reports of technical problems to recommend modifications, coordinate problem resolution with engineering and customer service, develop and conduct training, and provide a communication link between the customer and the company. Additionally, the role involves reviewing reports and documentation, inspecting malfunctioning products, and recommending repair or replacement actions, as well as maintaining a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
