Enterprise Account Executive - National Accounts

Position Overview

Confluent is revolutionizing data movement and empowering businesses with real-time data streaming. Our platform enables companies to react faster, build smarter, and deliver dynamic experiences. We are seeking a driven Enterprise Account Executive to join our Sales Team, focusing on our National Accounts segment. This role requires a proactive and skilled sales professional to drive revenue growth by selling Confluent solutions to leading companies. You will leverage your expertise in prospecting, sales, negotiation, and leadership to meet and exceed quarterly sales targets within a value-driven sales model, emphasizing consumption and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth within large, complex, and highly visible national accounts.
  • Proactively prospect, identify, qualify, develop, and close new sales opportunities.
  • Continue to grow data consumption within existing customer accounts.
  • Lead, drive, and execute strategic, complex sales cycles, demonstrating the value of Confluent at the C-level.
  • Become an in-depth expert (SME) on Confluent offerings, product suites, and the competitive landscape.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer strategies and business goals to act as a trusted advisor.
  • Collaborate closely with partner ecosystem teams for joint sales efforts.
  • Partner with Solutions Engineering for technical wins.
  • Work with Professional Services to ensure world-class customer experience.
  • Align with Customer Success Management to identify and close expansion opportunities and renewals.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in quota-carrying sales roles in a competitive market, with a focus on growing consumption within accounts/territory.
  • Prior experience in Big Data, Consumption, Cloud, SaaS, Open Source, or Enterprise IT Solutions.
  • Previous sales methodology training (e.g., MEDDPICC, Challenger).
  • Proven experience in leading and executing complex sales strategies to drive revenue growth.
  • Consistent track record of success and history of overachieving quota attainment.
  • Ability to articulate, educate, and sell business value to organizations of all sizes.
  • Experience in developing and improving processes and managing change within an organization.
  • Exceptional skills in relationship-building, customer relations, and negotiation.
  • Open to travel to customer locations as needed.
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent preferred.
