Candidates should have 2-3 cycles of political campaign experience, with a demonstrated and passionate interest in Democratic political campaigns and progressive politics. Significant digital experience, either in digital sales or as digital practitioners, is highly desired. Former Democratic campaign managers, digital directors, finance staff, field organizers, and caucus directors with 1-3 years of experience are especially encouraged to apply. Meticulous attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a passion for problem-solving, logistics, best practices, and data-driven decision-making are required. Comfort with daily sales outreach via phone, online demonstrations, and email is necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is required, and experience with Salesforce or other CRMs is a big plus. Previous experience with NGP VAN's product suite or similar campaign CRMs is also beneficial.
The State and Local Account Executive will sell NGP VAN's software products and technology services in a designated territory, developing new business primarily through prospecting and cold calls, and building relationships with Democratic officials, consultants, and campaign professionals. Responsibilities include conducting online demos, preparing written proposals, negotiating and closing sales, and establishing and growing relationships with current clients to upsell additional tools and services. The role involves working closely with the sales team to reach revenue goals, managing technology for prospect outreach and client conversations, and collaborating with Bonterra/NGP VAN staff to exceed client expectations. The position requires expanding new business, encouraging the implementation of new tools and services, embracing the company mission, and devising new ways to serve clients.
