Requirements

Candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in plant or operations management, preferably in extrusion, plastics, composites, or related manufacturing environments. Strong leadership, team development, and communication skills are required, along with proven experience in inventory control, purchasing strategy, and cost optimization. Familiarity with UFP Industries’ structure, culture, and product portfolio is a plus.

Responsibilities

The Director of Operations will lead all plant operations with a focus on safety, efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery of composite decking and outdoor living products. They will develop and execute operational strategies to meet site financial targets, including cost control, margin improvement, and capital planning. The role involves monitoring and improving production KPIs, building and managing a high-performing team, overseeing purchasing strategy and inventory procurement, ensuring optimal product costing, and maintaining compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations. Furthermore, the Director will drive lean manufacturing practices, support product development initiatives, and evaluate new technologies to enhance production capabilities.
