Role: Pricing Director

This role focuses on owning Garner’s pricing strategy and algorithms. It reports to the Head of Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth quantitative research into healthcare insurance markets and Garner’s product history to understand optimal pricing strategy.
  • Own Garner’s rates, margin profile, and financial risk in the market for all new business and renewed clients.
  • Manage policies related to pricing exceptions, pricing concessions, and performance guarantees.
  • Maintain and scope improvements to tooling for quoting or renewals.
  • Build, maintain, and improve complex pricing models for our SaaS and financial risk products.
  • Build ad-hoc pricing models to help inform product decisions and systematize these models to deliver consistent outcomes.
  • Benchmark to the competitive landscape to understand how our pricing compares.
  • Manage, develop, motivate, and retain a team of operations analysts.

Requirements

  • 6-10+ years of experience in a strategic problem-solving role.
  • Prior experience in management consulting, investment banking, or an early-stage startup is preferred.
  • Ability to build and maintain complex data-driven models while uncovering areas of improvement.
  • Ability to think in principles and frameworks to understand complex, abstract problems.
  • Willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and do whatever is necessary to ensure company success.
  • Experience working in a rapidly evolving startup environment.
  • Desire to be a part of our mission to improve the U.S. healthcare system.

  • Target Salary Range: $201,000 - $235,000
