Requirements

Candidates should possess 6-10 years of experience in a strategic problem-solving role, with prior experience in management consulting, investment banking, or an early-stage startup. They must demonstrate the ability to build and maintain complex data-driven models while uncovering areas of improvement, and a willingness to ‘roll up your sleeves’ to ensure company success. Experience working in a rapidly evolving startup environment is also required, along with the ability to think in principles and frameworks to understand complex, abstract problems.

Responsibilities

The Director of Pricing will conduct in-depth quantitative research into healthcare insurance markets and Garner’s product history to understand optimal pricing strategy, owning Garner’s rates, margin profile, and financial risk in the market for all new business and renewed clients. This role involves managing policies related to pricing exceptions, pricing concessions, and performance guarantees, maintaining and scoping improvements to tooling for quoting or renewals, building and maintaining complex pricing models for SAAS and financial risk products, and benchmarking to the competitive landscape. Furthermore, the Director will build ad-hoc pricing models to inform product decisions, systematizing these models for consistent outcomes, and managing, developing, motivating, and retaining a team of operations analysts.
