Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor training initiatives delivered consistently across the company, including educating staff on company policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with regulations
  • Conduct regular internal audits and inspections to ensure training modules are developed, delivered, and verified routinely
  • Keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations related to transportation safety and implement necessary updates to training curriculum
  • Provide guidance briefings, campaigns, and other training aids on safe driving practices, accident prevention, and emergency response protocols
  • Collaborate with internal and external departments, vendors, and support teams to identify and implement best practices in training and education
  • Prepare, audit, and guide onboarding materials for new drivers, graduate drivers, and existing fleet drivers consistently
  • Manage periodic training development quarterly, monthly, weekly for ongoing training campaigns
  • Audit materials and facilitators periodically to ensure consistent delivery of training curriculum
  • Maintain safety training library topics and campaigns for timely availability of materials to operations
  • Analyze trends, industry updates, and current event reporting to identify trends and root causes requiring modified or new training materials
  • Develop team-based strategies to maximize effective delivery of training materials by classroom facilitators
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of the training department staff to maximize organizational workflows
  • Liaise with regional operations managers, fleet supervisors, and other stakeholders to promote a safety-first culture
  • Collaborate with maintenance, driver services, safety, operations, and other internal departments to ensure timely delivery of training initiatives, campaigns, and bulletins
  • Communicate safety training updates, best practices, and initiatives across the organization
  • Prepare reports and presentations to present safety training agendas to senior management
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and assist in the development, scheduling, and distribution of training programs to operations, drivers, and other employees
  • Periodically assess safety training programs and initiatives to ensure company safety expectations are followed
  • Review periodic reports for assigned fleet to accommodate training needs and areas of focus for each operations group
  • Participate in routine calls, meetings, committees, and huddles to discuss safety training information with operational management
  • Organize and schedule classroom programs including driver orientation, grad class, defensive driving techniques, simulator, specialized equipment, and special projects
  • Present recommendations on safety training curriculum and assist in coaching and training of modules
  • Follow up with Operations and Safety Managers regarding proper documentation
