Familiarity with troubleshooting frontend build systems, serverless runtimes, and API integrations is required, along with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues and communicate clearly. Prior experience with Vercel or Next.js, or a comparable platform, is essential, and a passion for helping developers succeed is highly valued. Bonus points for open-source contributions, technical documentation experience, developer advocacy, incident management, serverless debugging, or frontend performance optimization.
The Developer Success Engineer will lead customers through technical motions to accelerate adoption and launch on Vercel, providing implementation guidance on builds, caching, web performance, and cost efficiency. They will troubleshoot technical challenges related to Next.js, serverless functions, build pipelines, and integrations, while identifying and unblocking opportunities for customer growth. Responsibilities also include authoring and maintaining resources like internal playbooks and external documentation, partnering with Sales, Support, and Product teams to escalate issues and influence product improvements, and spotting patterns in customer challenges to recommend proactive optimizations.
