Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED; Associate’s degree or equivalent preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and fleet safety certified
  • ASE certification preferred
  • Proven sales track record with 3-5 years related selling experience
  • Working knowledge of Advance products and services and ability to market them
  • Working knowledge of APAL system, including Inventory Management and processing Commercial account paperwork
  • Working knowledge of automotive systems and traditional automotive aftermarket
  • Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft software (Word, Excel required; PowerPoint preferred)
  • Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, percentages, sales increases, and gross profit
  • Ability to review and analyze business reports (e.g., P&L)
  • Strategic thinking, issue analysis, and change management skills
  • Ability to work assorted days, evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight travel
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally; specific vision abilities

Responsibilities

  • Work with District Leaders, General Managers, and key personnel to achieve goals for assigned accounts
  • Implement new Commercial Sales programs and support current programs
  • Visit assigned accounts, make sales calls, develop approaches to position products/services, identify/meet customer needs, and maintain sales call database
  • Proactively communicate with Store Team to ensure realistic customer expectations on product availability, accuracy, and delivery
  • Provide feedback to business partners on competitive info, merchandising, and services to strengthen market position
  • Partner in development and retention of Commercial Parts Pros for internal growth
  • Assist in other functions as assigned (e.g., cleaning, organizing, stocking, POS, truck loading/unloading)
