  • 2+ years of experience in a sales role (experience selling to professors in person on campus highly preferred)
  • Local candidate located within the Greater Seattle area
  • Valid Driver’s License (due to 40-50% travel requirements, up to 75% during sales seasons)
  • Sales skills, including ability to identify, drive, and close large/complex deals, prospect effectively, and run the full sales cycle (cold calling, demos, discovery, solution presentation, negotiation, and closing)
  • Highly motivated, achievement-oriented, ambitious, with drive to succeed
  • Experience working in a metrics-driven environment and ability to remain positive when facing objections
  • Strong ability to interpret and apply feedback/coaching quickly

Responsibilities

  • Find, create, facilitate, and close new business opportunities in assigned accounts (colleges and universities)
  • Represent and sell the full suite of Top Hat and approved partner products and services, including digital textbook content and SaaS platform
  • Effectively position and message Top Hat’s value proposition to professors or department leaders using a mixture of inside and outside sales techniques
  • Develop professional relationships with professors, demonstrate product value, and convert them into clients
  • Work with professors to enhance teaching methods and improve educational experiences for students and professors
  • Travel to campuses within territory (40-50% time annually, up to 75% during sales seasons) to prospect professors
  • Work closely with Customer Success Managers and internal product/marketing partners to ensure great customer experience and maximize revenue growth
