About the Role

We are seeking a Competitive Solution Architect to support the rapid growth of our product lines, Zoom CX and Zoom Phone. This is a U.S.-based individual contributor role with no direct reports. We’re looking for a dynamic professional with deep expertise in the Contact Center (CCaaS) and Phone (UCaaS/VoIP) markets. The role will primarily focus on Contact Center solutions (70%), with additional responsibilities in the Phone market (30%). About the Team

As a Competitive Solution Architect at Zoom, you will play a key role in analyzing the telephony landscape. As well as identifying market trends, and providing strategic insights to drive Zoom’s technical go-to-market strategy for Zoom CX and Zoom Phone. Your expertise will contribute to benchmarking, architectural analysis, and strategic deal support, influencing executive decision-making and revenue growth. This is a high-visibility role with opportunities for career advancement in an agile environment. We are looking for a self-starter who can work individually and prioritize initiatives that maximize business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering Actionable Intelligence: Provide insights through technical, strategic, and industry analysis to drive positioning.
  • Architectural Tear-Downs: Conduct hands-on technical evaluations of top CCaaS and Phone vendors, comparing their solutions to Zoom’s platform.
  • Benchmarking & Analysis: Collaborate with benchmarking teams to assess Zoom’s positioning against competitors.
  • Strategic Sales Support: Partner with sales teams to influence high-value opportunities, helping to position Zoom effectively in contesting situations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Product Management and Engineering to influence the product roadmap based on diligent insights.
  • Training & Enablement: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance competing awareness across sales and product teams.
  • Content Development: Contribute to battle-cards, white-papers, and sales enablement materials to strengthen Zoom’s market positioning.
  • Win/Loss Analysis: Support the Win/Loss Program by gathering key insights and driving actions to improve success rates.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in pre-sales solution engineering, solution architecture, or technical marketing engineering.
  • Well versed working with Contact Centers (CCaaS), VoIP, or UCaaS solutions.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to uncover and assess hidden advantages.
  • Hands-on experience with CCaaS or conversational platforms; experience with UCaaS and phone solutions is an advantage.
  • Experience with competition benchmarking and testing methodologies is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to diverse audiences, including executives.
  • Organizational and documentation skills in a matrix organization.
  • Proven ability to build relationships across departments, including Product, Engineering, and Sales.
  • Previous experience in intelligence, strategy, or market research is advantageous.
  • Experience with Zoom’s offerings is highly advantageous.

Salary Range or On Target Earnings

  • Minimum: $97,600.00
  • Maximum: $225,700.00

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value. Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations.
