Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field, with an advanced degree being preferred. A minimum of 6 years of experience in competitive intelligence, market research, or strategic analysis within the cybersecurity industry is required. The role necessitates experience using qualitative and quantitative research methods for decision-making, the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights, and proven success in translating competitive insights into clear recommendations for go-to-market teams and executives. Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts, technologies, and industry players is strongly preferred, as is proficiency in Google Workspace, competitive intelligence tools like Crayon, and CRM/data reporting platforms. Experience working closely with sales teams to provide competitive deal support, objection handling, and strategic positioning is also essential.
The Competitive Intelligence Director is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and disseminating critical competitive insights to inform strategic decision-making and help KnowBe4 win in the market. This includes supporting global Revenue and Channel teams with actionable insights, enablement content, and strategic deal support by tracking industry trends, competitor strategies, market dynamics, product developments, and customer feedback. Key duties involve conducting continuous competitive research using various tools and methods, analyzing cybersecurity competitors' product features, pricing, positioning, and strategies, and monitoring industry trends and technological advancements. The role requires collaboration with product marketing, sales, and product management teams, the development of competitive intelligence resources like battle cards and reports, and performing research on competitor sales tactics and customer experience. Additionally, the Director will provide timely alerts on competitive moves, lead competitive win-loss analysis projects, and present findings persuasively to executives and cross-functional teams.
