We are seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer II to support and scale our global cloud infrastructure for our Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) SaaS platform. This role involves close collaboration with Cloud Engineers, Support, Dev, and QA teams to deploy features, manage incidents, and drive performance. The position requires a blend of automation, hands-on cloud work, and problem-solving in a fast-paced global team environment. AWS experience is highly preferred.

The Team

You will join a tight-knit, high-performing CloudOps team that emphasizes collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in a CloudOps / DevOps role
  • Strong experience with AWS (Azure/IBM Cloud a plus)
  • Scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/K8s), Linux/Windows servers
  • Knowledge of monitoring, logging, DNS, VPN, databases (SQL)
  • Experience managing production incidents and supporting client-facing systems
  • Excellent communication skills, team player, and fast learner
  • Advanced English proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Manage and improve cloud infrastructure and services
  • Automate operations to enhance reliability and scalability
  • Support deployments, releases, and service enhancements
  • Lead incident response and root cause analysis
  • Collaborate globally and adapt to rotating coverage schedules

Short-Term Goals (1-3 Months)

  • Complete training on the Varicent tech stack.
  • Support, optimize, and improve production environments within a cloud engineering squad.
  • Learn the service observability and application performance monitoring stack.
  • Familiarize with customer-focused service request workflows and technologies.

Medium-Term Goals (4-6 Months)

  • Master customer-focused service request workflows to resolution.
  • Continually monitor and tune application infrastructure for optimal performance, availability, and resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with application teams to automate application configuration, setup, and deployment.

Long-Term Goals (7 Months & Beyond)

  • Become a subject matter expert in core support service request workflows, documenting and implementing enhancement ideas.
  • Become a subject matter expert for new features and enhancements, propagating knowledge across the team.
  • Participate in technical discussions and design for new projects.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements within the team and collaborate with stakeholders.
