Candidates must possess an advanced understanding of molecular diagnostics for oncology and the evolving competitive landscape, along with excellent knowledge of oncology, hematology, chemotherapeutics, and targeted agents. A strong grasp of the payor and reimbursement environment in oncology and diagnostics is essential, as is the ability to provide an integrated MolDx/SaaS solution using Tempus’s sequencing technology. Candidates should be comfortable selling at the executive level, possess superior listening and problem-solving skills, and demonstrate consistent closing abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and effective utilization of Salesforce.com are required. Advanced presentation skills, business acumen, and advanced written and oral communication skills are necessary, as are strong administrative skills and sophistication to manage business in complex environments. The ability to work independently, communicate proactively, manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks while meeting critical deadlines is crucial. Frequent travel (>50%) throughout the territory is also required.
The Clinical Account Executive will drive strategic business expansion and collaboration opportunities with major U.S. cancer centers, clinics, top oncology practices, Key Opinion Leaders, and Academic Medical Centers within the territory. They will structure detailed strategic plans for client acquisition and retention, maximize client-bill contracting opportunities, and implement laboratory services agreements. Responsibilities include collaborating with sales positions to achieve company goals, identifying and developing partnering opportunities, and promoting compliance with web-based molecular information tools. The role involves analyzing the competitive landscape, monitoring sales performance, and developing a comprehensive business plan for the territory. Additionally, the executive will work effectively with individuals across multiple departments, embrace and represent the Tempus company culture, and develop cross-functional relationships to achieve work goals. Problem-solving, decision-making, and technical learning are key aspects of the role, as is demonstrating Tempus’s values by acting with integrity, respect, and trust.
