Candidates should possess at least one year of experience in outside contractor sales within the construction industry, and a Bachelor's degree in construction management or business is preferred, though not required. They must be tech-savvy and proficient in using quoting software, order entry systems, and pickup tickets, along with a strong understanding of the construction sales process.
The Outside Contractor Salesperson will drive sales through the growth of existing clients, generate new business opportunities, develop new relationships within residential construction communities, perform all aspects of selling and closing projects, complete documents on time such as construction bids and change orders, achieve and exceed monthly sales call targets within a specified territory, generate new sales opportunities through networking and research, represent the organization and engage in marketing activities, inspect, scope, and estimate projects, maintain acceptable profit margins, follow up on all estimates with builders, maintain sales quota, take initiative and be self-driven, be resourceful and innovative, and analyze information purposefully to improve sales.
