Responsibilities

Implement sourcing strategies to support objectives in indirect or direct commodities, providing competitive advantage in materials, supplies, and services
Locate, analyze, and develop a consolidated supplier base to meet current and future commodity needs
Direct the negotiation and management of contracts/agreements for assigned commodities with medium to high risk and complexity
Provide guidance and direction to the purchasing/category management team on contract management, agreements, policy development, negotiation, and supply chain activities, including mentoring and coaching
Develop risk management strategies and recommend short- and long-term strategies with defined risk/benefit approaches; develop alternate sources for steady supply
Maintain budget and perform analyses of costs related to labor rates, charges, time, and materials
Monitor supplier capability and performance to ensure delivery, quality, and price commitments
Maintain and promote sound relationships with suppliers and business community; connect team members with potential suppliers
Lead projects to assure all procurement activities are performed as required
Create and maintain mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with suppliers to foster feedback and continuous improvement
Develop cross-functional teams to understand division-wide needs and evaluate suppliers
