Requirements

Candidates should possess 1-2 years of experience in business development or 4-5 years of experience in the classroom. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required, along with prior experience in business development, sales, or account management. Strong and empathetic verbal communication skills, a high level of comfort with cold calling, and the ability to think on your feet and problem-solve are essential. Excellent written communication skills, attention to detail, and a hunger to learn, grow, and succeed in a fast-paced startup environment are also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Business Development Representative will research and identify new business opportunities within school districts and other relevant organizations. They will apply sales development best practices through email, phone, and social outreach to connect with new prospects. Responsibilities include utilizing discovery and objection handling strategies to speak with decision-makers, articulating Parallel’s value proposition, and recording contacts and outreach using the CRM. The role requires demonstrating the ability to consistently achieve and exceed program targets.
