Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, computer science, or a related technical field, along with at least 5 years of business development experience in the defense industry. A proven track record in data-driven business development within the defense and aerospace sectors is essential. Required skills include understanding risk mitigation, program compliance, securing government-funded R&D contracts, and possessing an existing network in RF communications, SATCOM, radar, or electronic warfare. Strong knowledge of federal acquisition procedures and competitive assessment development is necessary. Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Office, and Teams is required, with systems engineering/application experience and PMP certification being preferred. The candidate must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance, with an active Secret clearance required and an active TS/SCI clearance preferred. Travel of approximately 25% is expected.
The Business Development Manager will lead and support business growth initiatives from inception to completion, identifying and cultivating new business opportunities with the DoD, federal agencies, and defense primes. Responsibilities include building and maintaining strategic relationships with customers and stakeholders, supporting technology transition roadmaps, and monitoring market trends. The manager will build and maintain a robust pipeline of leads, lead capture teams for proposal strategies and win themes, and oversee proposal and white paper creation. They will also review progress toward marketing and bookings goals, report status to senior management, and collaborate with customers and government program managers to drive satisfaction and ensure successful delivery.
