Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, supply chain, procurement, or a related field, along with a minimum of 7 years of capital procurement sourcing experience. Qualified applicants need to be authorized to work in the United States full-time, as Lilly will not provide work authorization or visa sponsorship. Preferred qualifications include proven leadership in capital project procurement for design, construction, equipment, and commissioning on projects exceeding $1B, mastery of core sourcing skills such as account management, category strategy, spend analysis, negotiation, and supplier relationship management, and demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Responsibilities

The Associate Director - Capital Procurement Performance and Governance will lead and standardize capital procurement processes, including business partner agreements, procurement strategy, market engagement, sourcing and contracting, claims management, and supplier relationship management. This role involves developing and implementing global metrics to measure procurement effectiveness and compliance, fostering cross-functional collaboration for project execution, talent development, training, and knowledge sharing, and providing strategic insights into project risks and the global capital plan. Responsibilities also include maintaining external visibility of best-in-class procurement practices through benchmarking and technology adoption, influencing global project teams and senior leadership to develop comprehensive procurement strategies, ensuring consistent sourcing practices across engineering, construction, equipment, and automation categories, contributing to robust category strategies and supplier risk management, mentoring and developing procurement talent, collaborating with audit teams to embed world-class controls, participating in governance activities, and supporting post-funding project execution.
