Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Knowledge of practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools used in commercial construction
  • 15+ years of experience in design and construction of complex facilities—preferably in the nuclear, energy, or a highly-regulated industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership or excellence-focused role
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
  • Experience managing multi-trade projects
  • Proficient with facilities layout and space planning software
  • Ability to operate forklifts, dollies, pallet jacks, and rolling carts
  • Proficiency in CAD design tools
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership
  • Willingness to travel for site visits, audits, or team collaborations
  • Passionate about making advanced nuclear a reality

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, development, and construction execution of Powerhouses and Fuel Recycling facilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of all aspects of facility development, including planning, budgeting, purchasing, and staffing
  • Provide planning, oversight, and execution of new construction and capital improvement projects and programs
  • Hire and manage project engineers and on-location project managers
  • Perform work tasks as needed on a specific and daily level
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other consultants to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • With the support of Oklo's PMO and Finance Teams, oversee construction progress, ensuring timing, costs, and contract requirements are met
  • Read and interpret architectural, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical plans
  • Manage regularly-scheduled facility inspections, building construction/maintenance, electrical construction/maintenance, HVAC, property, and grounds upkeep
  • Interact with Oklo’s nuclear regulatory experts to ensure facility compliance with all appropriate regulations
  • Organize monthly safety meetings to ensure OSHA and insurance carriers’ requirements are satisfied and deliver safety programs to ensure no harm to people, the site, or the environment
  • Develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures for effective facility management
  • Plan for the best allocation and utilization of space and resources
  • Monitor compliance with local codes and regulations regarding building safety and fire prevention
  • Ensure successful facility startup
